Traveling to Paros

Where to Stay

The town of Naousa.

Paros is a small island, 13 miles from one end to the other. Naousa is where the action is and will be the perfect home base for everybody to be together. + it is easy to explore the rest of the island from here

The street of Agioi Anargyroi.

Our recommended hotels sit along Agioi Anargyroi street. This street runs right along the beach and is just a short walk to town with lots of options for where to stay.

How to get to Paros

Flight to Greece

  • Book early! Prices go up

  • It is most cost effective to fly out of JFK

  • European Airlines like Swiss, ITA Airways, Aegean, Scandinavian Airlines, etc, have great deals.

  • The flight from JFK, PHL, & ATL are all around 10hrs to Athens.

  • When you book your flight to Athens, also book your transfer to and from Paros.       These sell out if you wait til the last minute.

Getting to Paros from Athens

  • You can fly or ferry to Paros.

  • From Athens we recommend flying as it is a 25 minute flight and you are already in the airport.

  • You can also take the ferry from the Athens ports which are about 35-45 minutes from the airport. The fastest ferry to Paros is 3.5 hours.

Getting to Paros from the Islands

  • If you are Island hopping in the Cyclades, it is easy to get to Paros by Ferry.

Naxos: 25 min

Mykonos: 45 min

Santorini: 1hr 50min

Milos: 1hr 45 min

Antiparos: 7 min

Traveling in Greece

Athens Airport

  • People in Greece are very helpful! ask for directions in the airport

  • you’ll likely need to get your bags at baggage claim and recheck them if you are flying to Paros

  • Give yourself two hours flying out of this airport! (trust us) The check-in area is chaotic. Look for your flight on the screen, it will have numbers next to it, those are your check in desks.

Ferries

  • Ferries are an easy and cost effective way to get around the Greek islands!

  • Ferryhopper.com is the best way to see all of your options (the travel time can severely vary, always opt for the fast ferry it is a more enjoyable, smoother ride).

  • Make sure to check into your ferry in advance and have the tickets on your phone. Arrive at the port 20 minutes before your departure time and you should be golden! The ferries are typically very on time - they get everyone on and off extremely quick.

Uber in Athens

Getting around Paros

Uber works in Athens (not Paros) and gets you a taxi car - there is no Uber XL.

  • Download Paros Taxi App (like Uber)

  • Rent a car

  • Call this taxi #: +30 6942411341

  • Rent an ATV / Moped with Ride Moto     ^Highly recommend!

Staying in Naousa

  • Naousa is 25 min from the Paros airport

  • Check with your hotel or airbnb, in Greece it is pretty customary for the hosts to arrange your transfer from the airport to your accommodation(& back)

Good to knows

  • You don’t need euros but they are good to have, especially for tipping.

  • Pretty much everywhere accepts tap to pay (Apple Pay)

  • You will need a European power adapter for your plugs. This is the one with two round prongs.

  • Don’t drink the water

  • You can’t flush toilet paper in Greece :)

  • Dinner time is much, much later - 8pm is early

  • You have to ask for the check! or they will legit never bring it to you

  • Tipping is 5-10%
